yup, thats right, Intel chipset 945GM can play this game, with a little tweak and adjustment...
U wont get the high visual and graphics of it but for those who r eager to play in their laptop with 945GM chipset, well...U do get good visual while maintaining the performance for the game...
Problem : U will get crash a lot of times playing this game, in the middle of skirmish mode, the first mission of GDI canpaign or even when u use the superweapons!
Solution : Just set the Shader setting to Medium in the game graphic option( the higher u set the graphic option the less chances u get crash or even wont at all). The bad thing is, With great visual comes it's side effect that is u will surely experiance low performance in the game...
Extra : Installation, When u come into custom setup page, there is " core game files " and " language packs ". click the small arrow that is pointing the "Language Packs" and it will show three types of language files. click on the English Language files and select "This feature will be installed on local hard drive". the rest will be simple...

how do you set the shader to medium? there is no option to do that in Game Gain 2.0. It can only change video setting from Fast to Fastest.
After u install the Game Gain software, restart ur laptop..
then go to the C&C3 graphic setting and change the shader to medium...
the higher u adjust the graphic setting the less chances that the game will crash but I have no problem with the crash problem and playing the game with ease ;)

And the thing is that when Im in the middle of the tutorial or when I star a campaign, the screen will turn black and it just says that the C&C has a problem and windows is trying to find the problem.

You need to input your graphics card, it is the only reason why it won't work. Even though Intel claims to have put in vertex shader 3.0 (the one missing requirement), GMA950 (945GM express) doesn't have hardware support for it. I think it is all bollocks, but hey, these guys make money somehow.
The official Intel website claims 945GM Express' video card, gma950 has the shader, but when you test it out, it just isn't there.
Vertex Shaders add in the special lighting you see, and many other things based on a 3d(virtual) objects vertex location (x,y,z). This is how many of the "super weapons" work, and why reflections require this (not really, but it is recommended).
Also, the 3d Transform and Lighting (TnL) just helps make the 3d into a viewable 2d, it is not really necessary, but can really speed up your computer. (proof in point: I can play SW:Empire at War in a Dell x200, even though it needs TnL and 915GM isn't going to give it.)

actually there is no need the use of GameGain..Just dont set the shader detail to low..that way it wont crash ..really need 1GB above..512mb just not enough because 945gm chipset consume memory from RAM..if you set ur graphic memory to maximum, it will consume 224mb leaving only around 288mb in RAM..so the more RAM the better =D

when u turn on ur laptop, during the booting screen press F2. Then it will bring u to the BIOS menu..Search for the option for tweaking ur graphic memory ( the option available is 64, 128 and Maximum). Set it to maximum and u'll get 224MB of graphic memory =D
I suggest u to have at least 1GB before changing to maximum graphic memory cuz since its integrated chipset it sucks out memory from RAM..as they say, The More Ram The Better especially for laptops since by adding more RAM it also increase the Lasting of the Battery
okay, well i went into the BIOS menu and i could not find it :( i looked under every tab but there weren't any numbers i could change except the time and date. r there some computers that can't change these graphics settings?
btw i'm using a toshiba a205 satellite
hmm..well..after sseing ur comment i went to restart my laptop to check on my BIOS menu..in my BIOS menu, the graphic memory setting is in the 'main' tab, just under the time and date settings..my model is Acer Aspire 5580

Well, I got to play CnC 3. I followed your advice with a minor tweak. I got to set the mode to "very low", and tweaked the following Gfx settings to "medium":
Shader detail, VFX Detail, Animation detail & Water detail.
Not only it will give it a boost to the loading screens, but also reducing (not removing) crash problems.
If it doesn't work, you could follow the other comments. I am not responsible to any damage. Just commenting.
I almost forgot, there was a small incident while playing the game using the tweak: It will freeze. But if the sound is still present (ambiance sound and music), it will recover in a few minutes.
